Glazed inside and out (except under side of lids and cannister bottoms), these were purchased new in 1980 for my grandmother, who used them only as display on her kitchen counter (she said they were too pretty to use and get "all dirty").
Cannisters are not "lopsided" as they look together in photo. They look that way because of the uneven surface I had to use. There are no chips, cracks, crazing or flaws, other than those natural to pottery. The depth of color varries slighly on each cannister, and is part of the manufacturing process, not a flaw. The under side of each lid is stamped "Pottery Craft, Made in USA, and a copyright stamp in the middle, with a different number" corresponding to the individual cannister.
The largest cannister (Flour) will hold 5 lbs. flour. It is approx. 9" tall with a base diameter of 5.75" The smallest cannister (Tea) is approx. 7" tall with a base diameter of 4.75" Cannisters are marked in raised letters (from largest to smallest) Flour, Sugar, Coffee, and Tea.
This set would be beautiful in a rustic kitchen or dining hutch!
Prepackaged weight approx. 9 lbs. 2 oz.
